What is the Fire Sleeve and Tape Kit™?
Fire Sleeve and Tape Kit™ is ideal in protecting against intense under hood heat making it the perfect solution for protecting hoses, oil and fuels lines and electrical wiring.
What is Fire Sleeve and Tape Kit™ made of?
The Fire Sleeve is constructed of woven fiberglass braided sleeve heavily coated with a 100% iron oxide silicone rubber. The Fire tape is a non-adhesive silicone rubber tape that is self-bonding, self-curing and forms a permanent water-tight barrier.
How much heat can the Fire Sleeve withstand?
Fire Sleeve can withstand up to 500 degrees of continuous heat and 2000 degrees of intermittent heat.
Does the Fire Sleeve come slit?
existing hose or wires and to apply the Fire Tape to protect the ends from radiant heat entering both ends. It also provides a sharp clean look.
Can Fire Sleeve be purchased in any larger sizes?
Fire Sleeve can be purchased in bulk in the available sizes, 3/8" ID, 5/8" ID, and 1" ID.
If I have a 3/8” inch hose should I get a 3/8” diameter Fire Sleeve Kit?
No! You always want a little slack in the material for bends and for easy on and off applications. Go with a size bigger to ensure correct fitting.
